Astronomy Day at the Library @ Buffalo & Erie County Public Library

Buffalo & Erie Public Library and the Buffalo Astronomical Association are hosting an Astronomy Day on 11/2 at the Downtown Central Library from 11am-3pm. Featuring telescope exhibits, demonstrations, kids activities and solar viewing (weather permitting).

Celebrate National STEM Day with interactive STEM Career Pathway Demos concluding with the Annual Recognition of schools and educators.

Celebrate National STEM Day with colleagues across the region and roll up your sleeves for hands-on activities you can use to spark your students’ interest in high-demand STEM careers.

With little or no experience, you can teach:

  • Mobile App Development
  • Cyber Security
  • Drone Technology
  • Engineering Design Process and Coding

2019 National Fuel Energy Education Workshop @ Hilton Garden Inn, Buffalo Airport

Your students will be motivated to learn about energy and climate-related concepts when they experience hands-on activities from the NEED Project. Students find out how their school and homes use energy and how to reduce energy consumption through this hands-on program correlated to NYS Learning Standards. Attendees receive hands-on kits and materials and participating students receive take-home energy conservation kits.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
3rd – 12th Grade Science and Tech Teachers
CTE Teachers
Math Teachers
To be eligible, your school must be located in National Fuel’s service territory.

Niagara University STEM Showcase @ Niagara University

At our Program Showcase, you’ll have the chance to hear from a panel of students and distinguished alumni in varying fields of study discussing NU’s unique opportunities for undergraduate research, internships, and field experience, as well as course offerings and clubs available in major courses of study in biology, life sciences, chemistry, psychology, environmental science, and mathematics (and more!).

You’ll also have a chance to take part in rotating breakout sessions, view live demonstrations, check out student research projects, take tours of campus and our science classrooms and labs, and learn about the admissions process into these popular and growing fields of study.
