The WNY Brain Bee is a competition for Western New York’s best and brightest high school students ( grades 9 -12).  This three round neuroscience competition includes questions about brain anatomy, development of the nervous system, sensations, movement, memory , and neurological disorders.  During Rounds I & II, all students receive identical questions and record multiple choice or written answers.  Round III requires oral responses to individual questions.  Contestants are eliminated after answering three questions incorrectly.  Ist place winner is eligible to compete in the National Brain Bee in Hershey, PA .  Travel expenses will be covered for the winner and one adult companion.   1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners all receive cash prizes.

Students can prepare for the competition by studying the free primer “Brain Facts:  A Primer on the Brain and Nervous System, available at  http://www.brainfacts.org/the-brain-facts-book.
