On May 13, 2014, sixteen professionals visited Lima Primary STEAM School to learn about a whole-school approach to STEAM education applied in the early elemantary years. The model was developed through the school improvement process building on their inquiry learning methods and using an engineering design process. The school developed STEAM rubrics and curiculum units.
“Lima proves that all best practices, standards based, data driven, and STEM ready instruction really can work in harmony with one another. All it took was teacher interest, commitment from leadership, and student interest to make this STEM learning environment the most inspirational I have ever seen… and to think, if this is what kindergarten and first grade students can do, what else is possible?”
